Middlesex Tennis is thrilled to launch our very first Sustainability Project, a bold step towards a greener future for our clubs and communities. With the support of our dedicated Middlesex Green Team, we have developed a clear and achievable plan to help our venues make impactful environmental changes—saving energy, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable travel.
We firmly believe that every action counts. By making small, meaningful changes, our clubs can play a significant role in tackling climate change while also benefiting from cost savings and stronger community engagement. To kick-start this journey, we are inviting all Middlesex clubs to sign up for our 2025 Sustainability Pledge, committing to four key actions:
- Power Up with Green Energy – Switch to renewable energy and serve up sustainability at your club.
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Keep your courts and clubhouse waste-free by improving recycling and reducing single-use plastics.
- Make Travel to Tennis Greener – Encourage car-sharing, cycling, or public transport to cut down on emissions.
- Track & Improve Your Club’s Impact – Measure your energy, water, and tennis ball usage to find easy ways to save resources.
A core part of this initiative is our partnership with Energy Oasis, offering clubs expert guidance and support on switching to renewable energy sources. This partnership ensures that clubs can transition smoothly to a greener, more cost-efficient energy provider—helping both the planet and their finances.
“We are incredibly excited to be able to launch our approach to sustainability and that we can work with our clubs and parks to make such a difference,”
Phil Veasey, Chair of Middlesex Tennis.
A big thank you for making this happen goes to the Middlesex Green Team, led by June Kirkwood and Desiree Fields.
Let’s work together to make Middlesex Tennis a leader in sustainability and create a lasting impact for future generations.
