Middlesex have been Awarded one of two LTA Organisations of the Year Honour.

We should all feel very proud of this award. The professional team, trustees and key partners in our tennis family such as June Kirkwood, the Inclusion Mentors, County Captains and so on– have worked as a fantastic team!
Presented by Scott Lloyd, LTA CEO and Sandi Proctor, LTA President the team at Middlesex Tennis made significant process in delivery of the core role of the county and beyond which have contributed to Tennis Opened Up. Here are some of our achievements from 2024:
- Middlesex have proactively recruited with great success for senior volunteer positions and created an effective team culture in their management committee.
- Identified Inclusion mentors to help support venues and held events to share information and good practice.
- Created and shared support resources for venues to raise awareness of environmental sustainability.
- In partnership with Surrey hosted an inclusive County Champs and with Hertfordshire run and inclusive coach education day.
- 2nd in the County Cup Race and numerous County Champions across the ages.
- Middlesex Memo highlighting events, news and player successes.
- Through the support of performance programmes, county training and competitions, they have assisted in the development of a number of Pro Players including Mika Stojsavljevic.
- Active contributors to the London and South East Regional Forum and to the One Team Bulletin.
The LTA Organisation Awards are new this year and aimed at recognising and appreciating the member organisations who have performed exceptionally well during the past year. There will be 2-3 awards.
Eligible organisations are National, Island, and County Associations, ABTO, TIA, STGB and UKAF. They will be awarded on the basis of the following criteria, considering that not all are relevant for every organisation.
The awards will be for organisations who…
1.Have shown commitment to supporting the implementation of the LTA strategy within their context.
2.Have shown initiative and innovation in any or many ways.
3.Have shown that communications to local stakeholders are effective and engaging.
4.Have shown success or improvements in the delivery of their core role and activities.
5.Have supported other counties/organisations through open exchange of ideas and sharing of resources.
There is no nomination process. A panel of President, Deputy President, DTAG Chair, LTA Managing Director for Tennis Development and Head of National Delivery will make the decisions having first sought the views of the Heads of Delivery about Counties, and relevant colleagues regarding other organisations. The panel will consider size and type of organisation.
