Paddington Recreation Grounds hosted our 2019 Road to Wimbledon Finals. Again we held the finals of the summer Babolat Middx Mini Masters events on the Sunday of the weekend, more details here...

We had 24 entries in our boys and 17 entries in our girls coming from a large range of clubs, schools and park sites around Middlesex.

First seed Dennis Dimov, representing David Lloyd Northwood, came through dominating all his matches. In the final he beat Hackney's Hamza Hussain 4-0 4-1 to take the title. Min Mahmut, Coolhurst LTC, and Laila Moledina, Dukes Meadows, came through to the finals. Min won a close first set tie-break 5-4(3) then rushed through the second set 4-0.

Dennis and Min both won the opportunity to play at the All England Club in August in a week-long tournament including both singles and doubles. They also got the opportunity to tour the grounds and attend a Player Party in the Members Clubhouse. Laila and Hamza took part in a coaching clinic with Dan Bloxham and Tim Henman at the All England Club.

Our Consolation events for our first round losers, were very competitive with Alex Renney, West Middlesex LTC, battling through his consolation matches 4-5 (4) 5-4 (1) (11-9) and 4-2 2-4 (10-8) to win the boy's consolation event. In the consolation event, Violette Molson came through two tough match tie-breaks 11-9 and 12-10 to win the girl's consolation event.
